Term 3 Immersion Assembly

Welcome to Term Three.

This term’s theme is science-based, and is called ‘There’s Something in the Water’ (he mea i roto i te wai).  The whole school is focusing on investigating different aspects of the waters around our school. 

Point England Beach is a short walk from the school, and Team One will be answering the question ‘What animals live at our beach, and how are they suited to their habitat?’. 

To inspire our children about the theme, Team One teachers created this movie which was shown at our Immersion Assembly. 

Term Two's Immersion Assembly

The theme for this term is ‘I Like Your Latitude’.  It’s all about knowing where we are, where we’re going, and how we’re going to get there.  Team One are looking at the problem of why bees are dying, and will find pathways for bees to be safe and will find the quickest and safest way for a bee to get to it’s hive.  We will also create pathways for people to follow, using words such ‘left, right, up, down, turn’.   

To introduce our inquiry, Team One teachers made an amazing video.  We hope you like it.

IMMERSION ASSEMBLY #1

Today we had our immersion assembly.  It was amazingly fantastic!  (well – perhaps not amazingly, cos we’re all just amazing all the time!).  Here is a photo, and a short video, of the awesome robot Mr J. made.

 
As well as the Senior Management Team getting creative, each teaching team created a video or stage presentation to introduce what their students would be doing in Term Two.  It was so much fun!

KIWISPORT

We have been having so much fun in Kiwisport.  Coach Shanice has been teaching us ways to balance.  Here’s some of us walking while balancing small beanbags on our head.  Some of us are a lot better at it than others, but we all tried really hard.
